Dr. Neelab Anwar is a Board Certified Orthodontist (an honor achieved by less than 30% of all Orthodontists) who attended the prestigious Eastman Institute for Oral Health at the University of Rochester in New York for Orthodontic residency.
Prior to attending residency, Dr. Nee obtained her degree in biological sciences and physiology, graduating with high honors from California State University San Marcos. Dr. Nee received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. After living in New York for a few years, Dr. Nee always aspired to go back to her hometown in beautiful San Diego, California where her whole family resides.
At the age of fourteen, she was very self conscious about her smile and the way her teeth looked. After completing orthodontic treatment and with her new smile, her confidence increased, and it truly changed her life! At this point, Dr. Nee knew she wanted to be an inspiration and boost the confidence of so many people everyday while creating beautiful smiles.
Dr. Nee has written several papers on compassion and empathy in the orthodontic field. She takes the time in treating each patient like family and holds this idea true to her heart.
In her daily life, Dr. Nee is known to be truly an empathic, compassionate, driven and a loving health practitioner which is hard to find today. She is also fluent in English, Spanish and Farsi. In her free time, she loves playing tennis and the piano. She also enjoys exercising, golf, running and playing tennis with her husband who is also an Orthodontist. They both met in their Orthodontic residency and look forward to welcoming you and your family to their Orthodontic practice!
Dr. Nee is also committed to giving back to the community. She participates in local homeless shelters and low-income dental clinics, where she spent a majority of her time there in college. She strives to make a difference in her community each day. She also enjoys lecturing to pre-dental students and motivates them to pursue their future dreams in Dentistry and Orthodontics.
