Children Orthodontics

Picture of a giraffe in a jungle setting. First Orthodontic Check-up | Braces Are Cool | FAQ

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that all children have an orthodontic evaluation by age 7. While it is clear that children vary in the timing of skeletal and dental development, age 7 is a good “rule of thumb”, because this is the age at which many potential problems in alignment, occlusion and tooth development first begin to manifest themselves. Early orthodontic screening allows for immediate intervention in cases where it is indicated. Quite often intervention will be indicated, but not yet. In these cases, a program of growth monitoring can be instituted for the patient, so that the optimum “window of opportunity” can be utilized when the time is right.

The goal of early orthodontic evaluation is to provide each patient with the most appropriate treatment at the most optimum time.

At Baker Orthodontics we have a kid friendly office and staff. We love kids and it shows! Our office is decorated with a Safari theme — you’ll see lots of fun animal decorations and even a train that makes it’s scheduled run on its track above the patients chairs! We have a Play Station 2 in our kid’s room, so plan to come a few minutes early to your appointment and play!

The initial consultation is free, so call today and set up an appointment.
